NEW YORK, March 25, 2015 – Situs, the premier global provider of strategic business solutions for the Financial Services industry, today announced the appointment of Charles Rierson as Managing Director to co-lead the firm’s newly expanded Financial Institutions Group (FIG) with Situs Managing Director Edward Robertson. Mr. Rierson and Mr. Robertson will be responsible for the expansion of Situs’ FIG consulting solutions to financial institutions across their portfolio of offerings.
“The financial services industry is undergoing a sea change on Risk Mitigation, partially from increased regulatory oversight but also from a desire to increase efficiency and monitor the bottom line,” said Situs President Steve Powel. “Our expansion in this space is the evolution of our core competencies matching market demands. Charles is an industry veteran who brings a unique skill set and vision to this role and we are very pleased to welcome him on board. Ed has been a tremendous resource for Situs and his appointment as co-lead for FIG will help drive our strategy on Risk and Compliance related matters such as CCAR, DFAST and HMDA among other opportunities.”
Prior to joining Situs, Mr. Rierson was Chief Executive Officer of Regions Securities, a wholly owned broker-dealer subsidiary of Regions Financial Corporation, where he built the institutional broker dealer and its investment banking capabilities. At Regions, he was simultaneously the Chief Operating Officer for the Capital Markets division, which included derivatives, FOREX, loan syndications and CRE debt origination. Mr. Rierson’s career has included roles at Wachovia and the Federal Reserve. He will be based in the firm’s Atlanta office.
“Situs will build upon its reputation for asset-level due diligence, adding more consultative thought leadership around modeling, analytics, valuation and process improvement,” said Mr. Rierson. “Clients in the financial services industry expect tailored solutions to today’s complex problems. Situs has the talent and knowledge base to deliver such solutions.”
Edward Robertson, based in San Francisco, joined Situs in 2013 from Clayton Holdings and has been instrumental in key client wins and the firm’s work on CCAR and DFAST. Prior to Clayton Holdings, Mr. Robertson was CFO for Washington Mutual’s Commercial Group and for Barclays Bank Latin America. “Situs is synonymous with quality and we intend to leverage that capacity as we broaden our client base. We see a lot of opportunity for advisory firms who can ensure quality while delivering scale and an effective cost structure.”
