Situs RERC, Deloitte and the National Association of REALTORS® and  announce the release of their annual forecast report: Expectations & Market Realities in Real Estate 2017 – Intersection of Global Change: Embracing a New Era. This publication marks the sixth time that these firms have partnered together to produce the report. This report presents a summary of 2016 events in the economy, capital markets and property markets, and provides analysis and insight into current expectations for these areas in 2017.

The Expectations report is built on knowledgeable insights from recognized real estate authorities with experience across all property types worldwide. Collectively, Situs RERC, the National Association of REALTORS® and Deloitte operate in 40 countries around the globe and employ thousands of real estate professionals.

Ken Riggs, President of Situs RERC, says, “In 2017, expect the commercial real estate market to continue to offer solid risk-adjusted returns and strong fundamentals, with commercial real estate values continuing to support prices.”

Matt Kimmel, Principal at Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP, remarks, “During the upcoming year, expect ongoing global change that presents opportunities in the commercial real estate markets as they continue to perform well across most asset types.”

Lawrence Yun, Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of Research with the National Association of REALTORS®, adds, “The U.S. economic momentum still appears to be in place from continuing job gains. The falling unemployment rate should begin to help boost wages and further strengthen the commercial market fundamentals of rising occupancy and rent growth. However, with monetary policy committed to higher interest rates, commercial real estate property prices may undergo a minor downward adjustment.”
