SitusAMC Power Pro: Lynette Robertson

Name: Lynette Robertson
Office: Remote
Title: AVP for Warehouse, Finance and Custody Solutions

Day-to-day: I sit on the warehouse administration services team, and we provide services to investment banks. Day-to-day I am dedicated to one of our clients, and our team assists them with their daily transactions. It’s been nice working with the same clients, and I get to meet them soon in person.

Job inspiration: We are often presented with new activities, which I really enjoy. We just had a conference in Dallas and the warehouse finance team presented a demo of a new enhancement to our platform that was exciting. We’ll help them test the demo. It’s inspiring to see us progress and improve our services. I like that I used to be the person who utilized the system and now I’m sitting on the team with people who are developing it.

Path to SitusAMC: I have worked in banking for a long time, specifically warehouse. Most recently I was at Fifth Third bank based out of Ohio and when they dissolved the warehouse end of their business, one of my bosses put me in touch with someone at Situs AMC and here I am!

Traits necessary for the job: My team and I were joking yesterday that you need a little ADD to do this job well. You need to multitask as a lot of deadlines and time sensitive information comes your way. Your attention must be on 50 things at a time.

First job: I worked at an outdoor nursery in Pittsburgh that sold trees, flowers, and even vegetables. My mom was employed there, so I helped her out and learned a lot about different plants and growing techniques.  I got to meet lots of different kinds of people. Believe it or not It was fun to work with my mom! I even worked with her at another job later in my life.

Downtime: I like to go to the gym in my downtime and meet like-minded people who enjoy physical fitness. My family and I like to be outside and active. Both my kids are into sports, and I really enjoy cheering them on in the sidelines.

What your younger self would say: My younger self would be surprised by where I’m at in my life, both because I grew up in Pittsburgh, and never imagined one day I’d move to Dallas, and because I was a dance major in college, and never imagined I’d end up in banking. I did tap, jazz, modern, and ballet. Dancers tend to go one of two ways after college: you either open a dance studio or go on to further education in dance. I didn’t want to get a masters in dance or open a studio. So the younger me would be shocked by where I am now, but happy about it.

Childhood hero: One person comes to my mind, and that is my grandfather. He was larger than life, and he knew EVERYTHING. Before Google was invented, I had my “pap.” If my parents didn’t know the answer to a question, I would always call him. He was a very intelligent person who had a lot of life experience, including raising eight kids. He always wanted the family to be together, so every summer he would throw a talent show, and invite the whole big family, including the extended cousins, and everyone would participate and have so much fun. He and my grandmother would join right in, by singing a song, or reciting the poem “Casey at the Bat.” He was an amazing person.

Fondest memories growing up: Every summer my extended family took a vacation to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. I have so many happy memories of being at the beach with all of us playing, swimming, building sandcastles and just being together.

Dream destination: I would love to go to Greece. I love the colors, the whitewashed houses, the blue of the sea, and the idea of waking up to see the water. And I love Greek food.
